Hazelnut Chip Ice Cream


  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract or vanilla powder
  • Chopped hazelnut pieces (optional, you can adjust the amount according to your taste)


  1. Place the egg yolks in a bowl and beat well with the sugar. Continue whisking until the mixture turns light yellow.

  2. Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Remove from heat before it reaches boiling point. Be careful not to boil the milk too much.

  3. Add the heated milk little by little to the egg yolk mixture, stirring constantly. Pour the mixture back into the pot.

  4. Put the mixture back on the stove and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens. When the consistency of the mixture thickens, remove it from the stove.

  5. Add the cream and vanilla extract. Stir the mixture well and set aside to cool to room temperature.

  6. Once the mixture has cooled, transfer it to the ice cream machine and freeze according to the machine instructions.

  7. When it reaches the consistency of ice cream in the ice cream machine, add the chopped hazelnut pieces and mix a few more times.

  8. Leave the hazelnut ice cream you prepared in a bowl to harden in the freezer for a few hours.
