Required Ingredients and Preparation Steps to Make Baklava!

Ingredients: For the dough:

  1. 1 pack of baklava phyllo or ready-made baklava dough
  2. 250-300 grams of butter or oil

For internal mortar:

  1. 2 cups crushed walnuts or pistachios
  2. Half a glass of granulated sugar
  3. Half a teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

For the sherbet:

  1. 3 glasses of water
  2. 3 cups granulated sugar
  3. juice of half a lemon


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

  2. To roll out the baklava dough, lay the phyllo sheets on the counter and cover them with a cloth, be careful not to dry them out.

  3. Melt the butter or prepare the oil.

  4. Take the first sheet of dough and brush it with melted butter or oil using a brush or spoon.

  5. Lay the second sheet of dough on top and oil it again. Repeat this process for 6-8 sheets of dough in total.

  6. Sprinkle the stuffing on half of the phyllo dough you placed on top of each other. (Mixture of crushed walnuts, granulated sugar and cinnamon)

  7. Cover the other half and oil again.

  8. Cut the baklava slices to the desired size using a knife.

  9. Place the cut baklava on a pre-greased tray, spaced apart.

  10. Apply oil on them again using a brush or spoon.

  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until golden brown (about 30-40 minutes).


  1. Mix sugar and water and let it boil.

  2. After boiling, add lemon juice and boil for another 10-15 minutes.

  3. Let the sherbet cool.


  1. Pour the cooled sherbet over the hot baklava coming out of the oven.

  2. Wait for a while for the syrup to penetrate thoroughly into the baklava.

  3. You can serve the baklava with its syrup absorbed.

  4. If you wish, you can decorate it by sprinkling ground walnuts or pistachios.
